The DARA Tarmonbarry / Scramogue Community Defibrillators committee is working to ensure that life-saving defibrillators are available and accessible to the entire community, and they are seeking your help.

The committee needs your help to replace two defibrillators, to purchase a new defibrillator for the Kilbarry / Cloonshannagh area and purchase replacement parts, eg batteries, pads and insulated boxes.

The committee has set up a Go Fund Me page, which can be accessed by scanning the QR code on the image in this post.

In an emergency, a few minutes can mean the difference between life and death. That’s why the DARA Tarmonbarry/Scramogue Community Defibrillators committee is working hard to ensure that life-saving defibrillators are available and accessible when they’re needed most.

This initiative was born out of a deep commitment to protect the community. The committee has already placed defibrillators in key locations, but they need your help to maintain them, provide training, and install more units where they’re needed most.

This project isn’t just about equipment—it’s about empowering people to act in an emergency. With proper access to defibrillators and CPR training, someone in cardiac arrest will have the best chance of survival.

Nuala McGowan, ACA, CPA, AIA, founder of McGowan Accountancy Services, is throwing her support behind the fundraising initiative.

Nuala was involved in setting up the group almost 20 years ago. She commented: I got involved in setting up the original committee in memory of my brother Padraic, following his untimely death.”

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Padraic’s death. Nuala poignantly said: “By donating, you are directly contributing to saving lives in the community. Whether it’s €5 or €50, every donation makes a difference. Help make the community a safer place for everyone, by donating.”
